Disney World, Universal Theme Parks Close

ORLANDO (Orlando Sentinel) – Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort theme parks are among the businesses that will close today as Wilma threatened to bring tropical-force winds to the Or-lando area. Other major theme parks, including SeaWorld and Discovery Cove, expected to open but were keeping an eye on the storm. Kim Prunty, spokeswoman for Walt Disney World Resort, said the theme parks will open today if weather conditions improve. "We'll re-evaluate after the storm passes," Prunty said. Disney's resort hotels will stay open, but guests at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Camp-ground were relocated to hotels at the resort, the company said in a statement. Universal's CityWalk will open at 6 p.m., a spokeswoman said. Walt Disney World, along with Universal Orlando and SeaWorld, closed for the three hurricanes that hit the area last year.
